Custom Guarantee UL Gen. 9 Highlights
2017 CSO Mortality Compliant
o Level Pay guarantee to age 120: generally increasing 1% – 2%
o Level Pay guarantee to age 100: generally decreasing 2% – 6%
o Level Pay guarantee to below age 100: mixed with mostly price decreases ages 45 to 60
o Single pay guarantee to age 120: generally increasing 5% – 7%
o Single pay guarantee to age 100 or less: generally decreasing 1% – 5%
o Short pay guarantee to various durations: increasing 15% – 20% with smaller increases for shorter
NEW Premium Recovery Endorsement Feature: Provides the policyowner the option to fully surrender the
policy and recover some or all of their total premiums paid within a 60-day window after the 15, 20, and 25
policy year anniversary.2 This new feature is available at no extra premium.
o Year 15: 50% of premium can be recovered
o Years 20 & 25: 100% of premium can be recovered
o Max amount of premium that can be recovered is 50% of the lowest face amount of the policy
o To take advantage of this benefit, in general the policy must be funded at a level to guarantee to at least
attained age 95 assuming no policy loans are taken. In some instances, more premium may be required.

Accelerated Death Benefits: As with the previous generation, Custom Guarantee UL Gen. 9 includes the
Accelerated Death Benefit Endorsement for Critical, Chronic, and Terminal Illness where approved.3*
o There is a new Accelerated Death Benefit disclosure form series L-3235NS Revised (4-19).
o The maximum that can be accelerated has been increased to $2 million (lifetime maximum for all three
benefits combined per policy).
o Limits on Terminal Illness were raised from the smaller of 75% or $750k to 90% or $1.0M.
o Qualifying chronic illnesses no longer need to be permanent.
*The critical illness benefit is now available on Custom Guarantee UL Gen. 9 in the state of Florida
